Screen sharing pixelated

When I use screen sharing or logmein.com to connect to my mac mini server some of the apps are all pixelated. Like iphoto is pixelated, but if I open up the photos in photo viewer they are fine. Firefox is all pixelated but safari works fine.

What is going on here?
